Kuigi prantslaste pidustused maailmameistrite kojusaabumisel olid vägevad, siis tundeid ei hoidnud vaos ka esmakordselt finaali jõudnud Horvaatia poolehoidjad, keda oli riigi pealinna Zagrebi tänavatele kogunenud samuti tuhandete kaupa. ESPN-i andmetel lausa pool miljonit ehk 12 protsenti rahvastikust.
