Kuigi prantslaste pidustused maailmameistrite kojusaabumisel olid vägevad, siis tundeid ei hoidnud vaos ka esmakordselt finaali jõudnud Horvaatia poolehoidjad, keda oli riigi pealinna Zagrebi tänavatele kogunenud samuti tuhandete kaupa. ESPN-i andmetel lausa pool miljonit ehk 12 protsenti rahvastikust.
"Tänud, Horvaatia - ma ei ole kunagi nii uhke olnud," sõnas MM-i teise koha omaniku peatreener Zlatko Dalic.
